Sr Denischka Uys is a registered wound care practitioner. She obtained her BCur from UNISA (2017) which included Nursing Management, Education and HIV Counselling.
Her past experience in ICU at Netcare and as a senior nurse on International Cruise Ships enables her to think critically and assess the patient as a whole and not only the hole in the patient.
Denischka started a private nurse practice in 2016 and obtained a postgraduate certificate in Wound Care at the University of the Free State (2017).
She completed the ILWTI lymph oedema and Wound Care certification from the USA (2018).
Wound Care is her passion and she currently runs the Wound Care Clinic at the Harbour Bay Medical Centre, Simon’s Town and does home visits in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town.
The wound care clinic provides a thorough diagnostic appraisal of the wound and the patient where after a care plan fitted for the individual will be drawn up. Our goal is to assess your needs, create and individualized treatment plan, monitor your progress toward healing and implement strategies to prevent wound recurrence. Every patient will be treated caringly and holistically by a highly trained wound care practitioner to ensure sufficient and thorough care is given. With a healing rate of more than 80 percent, the wound care clinic help patients to heal their wounds in just a few months.
